Food For Thought

Toen ik ergens in mei 2004 het boek "Het leven waarvoor je geboren bent" van Dan Millman las over de relatie tussen onze geboortedatum en onze levensbestemming, dacht ik even dat dit het zoveelste boek over numerologie was. Nu weet ik niet zoveel van numerologie en ik was eigenlijk niet van plan (en dat ben ik nog steeds niet) om mij daar in te gaan verdiepen. Ik was natuurlijk wel nieuwsgierig wat voor informatie er zou staan bij mijn geboortedatum. Na het lezen, moest ik erkennen dat deze informatie een grotere persoonlijke en praktische waarde voor mij had dan ik verwachtte. Dit bleek vervolgens niet alleen voor mij maar ook voor meerdere bekenden en familieleden het geval die zich vrijwillig onderwierpen aan de geboortedatum-test.

Aangezien de systematiek en de informatie zich uitstekend leende om via een webpagina opgevraagd te worden, ontstond het idee om dit via internet voor iedereen toegankelijk te maken. Een avond internet-programmeren en vele dagen invoerwerk (met toestemming van de uitgever Forum Amsterdam) resulteerde in Food for Thought.

Food for Thought maakt geen onderdeel uit van de trajecten bij Retrofit. Een reintegratie- of outplacementtraject houdt veel meer in dan een interessante uitdraai uit dit systeem. Persoonlijk hecht ik veel waarde aan goede gesprekken van mens tot mens en haal daar meer informatie uit dan waaruit dan ook.

Of Food for Thought iets van u teruggeeft, zult u zelf moeten beoordelen. Retrofit heeft inmiddels leuke reacties gehad van mensen die beaamden dat er 'iets' of zelfs 'meer dan iets' van hen in zat. In dat geval heeft het reeds zin gehad.

        I am not a numerologist. In skimming such texts in the past, I found them a bit vague, and maybe forty percent accurate. It didn't make any sense to me how adding up the numbers of one's date of birth could give valid, accurate information about oneself. It seemed like hocus pocus. Although I cannot explain precisely where this method originated (other than pointing in the direction of Pythagoras) -- I know that it works. Anyone who has perused the book will enthusiastically testify to its accuracy, and more important, its accessibility and utility as a method of insight, self-awareness, and compassion for oneself and for others.
        Many have also enjoyed the sections about "The Energies of Relationship" and "The Nine-Year Cycles." Remain as skeptical as you like as you look up how to find your birth number; then look up the section about your life path and prepare to be as amazed as I was when first exposed to this information.
